Service and Support Technician

Immediate Availability : Tampa, FL – Full-time Onsite

Medability is growing, and we are looking for a Service and Support Technician to join our team in Tampa, Florida.

About Medability

Medability is at the forefront of medical technology, dedicated to revolutionizing how healthcare professionals (HCPs) learn, practice, and master complex procedures. We build cutting-edge simulations that bridge the gap between theory and hands-on mastery, ensuring that every HCP is fully prepared before they ever step into the operating room or clinic.

Everything we do is driven by three core pillars:

  • Our Impact: To transform healthcare training, enabling medical professionals to deliver the best patient care.

  • Our Vision: To make medical imaging and procedural training accessible, standardized, and risk-free worldwide.

  • Our Mission: To help medical professionals train anytime, anywhere.

When you join Medability, you are not just developing products—you are building clinical confidence. You will be part of a mission-driven, innovative team creating scalable, zero-risk training environments that improve patient outcomes and define the future of global medical education.

This is a hands-on technical and operations role supporting Medability’s U.S. activities. Working closely with our Customer Success & Support team for a growing medical training technology company.

Your Work

Your primary objective is to help ensure Medability systems are properly maintained, technically reliable, and ready for customer use.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Technical Service & Maintenance

  • Independently set up equipment, identify technical issues, and perform appropriate in-office repairs.

  • Assist with scheduled annual maintenance and preventative service.

  • Support customers remotely with setup, troubleshooting, and use via phone and remote access.

  • Assist with hardware and software upgrades, new installations, and service calls.

  • Track technical issues, repairs performed, service activity, and time spent in ERP.

  • Assist with testing and quality checks before equipment is returned to customers or deployed into the field.

Fleet & Logistics Support

  • Receive returned simulators and accessory cases and inspect them for condition and completeness.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, accessories, instruments, and consumable training materials.

  • Pick, pack, label, and prepare equipment for outbound shipment.

  • Maintain an organized storage and staging area

Production & Office Support

  • Assist with 3D printing and preparation of models used with Medability systems.

  • Maintain an organized technical workspace, inventory, tools, and service materials.

  • Support other technical and operational activities in the Tampa office as required.

Skills and Abilities

You should be willing and able to:

  • Lift and transport equipment and stand for prolonged periods.

  • Perform hands-on technical work with small electronic and mechanical components.

  • Solder small electronics, apply heat shrink, and use epoxy.

  • Enter a PC’s BIOS and adjust computer and system settings.

  • Learn new hardware, software, and technical processes.

  • Maintain accurate records and follow established procedures.

  • Work independently while knowing when to ask for assistance.

  • Maintain confidentiality.

  • Travel occasionally, primarily within the United States, approximately 10% of the time.

  • Maintain a valid drivers license & passport.

Your Profile

You enjoy solving problems, learning how things work, and finding practical solutions when something is not working properly. You are organized, dependable, and detail-oriented. Quality matters to you, and you understand that even small mistakes in equipment preparation, inventory, or configuration can have a significant impact on a customer training event.

You should have:

  1. BS Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Or

  1. Specific technical education, certifications, or vocational training.

Or

  1. 2+ years of experience in technical support, hardware repair, electronics, IT support, equipment service, logistics, or a similar hands-on role.

  • Strong working knowledge of computers and the Google Workspace suite.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a small-team environment.

  • A willingness to learn new technical skills and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Experience with 3D printing, electronics, computer hardware, audio/visual equipment, technical service, or inventory/logistics is an advantage, but not required.

More than anything, we are looking for someone who is reliable, curious, organized, hands-on, and willing to learn.
